The Power of One... The Strength of Many

Lending Library

The HREI Lending Library is available to our visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Readers can now check out a book or a set of resources to take home or use in a classroom. We also have a comfortable reading room.

We have in stock a wide variety of titles on many topics: human rights movements, civil rights history, abolition, and more. The writings of leaders such as Martin Luther King, Jr. and Abraham Lincoln are available. Titles are suitable for adult readers, for young people, and for teachers.

Come in and see what we have, or browse our catalog here.

For teachers, we have full teaching kits that we can loan your classroom. Titles include Teaching Tolerance’s “Viva La Causa: The Story of Cesar Chavez and a Great Movement for Social Justice” and “A Time for Justice: America’s Civil Rights Movement.” We also have full teaching kits on “Youth for Human Rights” and “The Story of Human Rights.”

For young people, we have a diverse selection of books on themes of human rights, cultural diversity, tolerance, and more. A wide variety of age levels are represented (primarily K-12). Looking for a book to help you with a report? Just want to learn more about a social movement or an admired leader? Come see what we have!
