This fun-filled movie night, hosted by the Coeur d’Alene Police Department with pre-movie fun provided by HREI, will feature “Wonder” a critically-acclaimed movie about a child with facial deformities attempting to fit in at a prep school. The movie will start at dusk on July 14th.
“Wonder” is a story of young Auggie Pullman who was born with facial deformities (Treacher Collins Syndrome.) Auggie’s facial deformities make it difficult for him to fit in at his prep school, and an easy target for bullying. This moral story with a happy ending shows that people who are different from us are people too, and provides a strong message for children and teens on bullying and some of the difficulties faced by people with deformities as they live their lives.
