Communication is a tool for connection. It can connect us to ourselves, to one other, and we can use it to connect the dots around ideas and issues that lead to positive, unifying change. The more we learn how communication connects us, the better our practice of it becomes. In this workshop, participants will learn to identify different expressions of communication, understand a variety of verbal and non-verbal cues, and practice choosing the best communication expression for a variety of messages.
Meet the Speaker: Melinda Cadwallader is the cofounder and CEO of The Hive, a coworking space and learning annex coming soon to downtown Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Melinda has been creating space for ambitious people since 1997, working within the salon and spa industry as education director, designing apprenticeship programs, and facilitation coaching. In her role as vocational college director, she directed teams of instructors and managed the day-to-day flow of admissions, financial aid, reception and curriculum. Being a conduit of success for others has been Melinda’s favorite aspect of her life’s work, her parenting style, and the mission behind The Hive, where she gathers like-minded women to help support a variety of entrepreneurial paths, within her local ecosystem.
